Donors and Grants
Do you need some additional bandwidth to meet your donor stewardship, grant-writing, or grant-making goals? I’ve sat on all sides of the table—as a supporter, a nonprofit organization seeking grants, and a panelist reviewing grant applications. Whether you are a funder or a nonprofit, I can help.

I’m an exceptionally strong writer with an exacting eye and have decades of grant-writing experience, institutional relations expertise, and a track record of success. From initial inquiries, to grant applications, to stewardship report creation, "I'm on it"!
I can augment your existing program as-needed, serve as an interim grant writer, or assume an on-going writing role. This could be a couple of grants per month. It could be weekly support. I can help to develop initial grant materials if you are just starting out. I can review materials already developed with a "fresh set of eyes," and revise strategically, providing you with ever-more impactful tools to communicate how funding will make impact, and the outcomes that it will support.

Don't have time to pick up the phone to your donors? Not your strong suit? Your shop is busy and donor calls are the one thing that keeps falling off the to-do list? You are not alone! This happens regularly . . . and it can "leave money on the table."
I review your donor file and assess whether I can augment current efforts to keep donors loving and investing in your mission.
One of my greatest passions is nurturing donor connection to the work, and I love getting folks on the phone to remind them why they align with and find meaning in your work. I set you up for the ED or staff conversation where the actual ask is made--I do all of the work to make this EASY for you!

I have sat on panels from community foundations to national competitive grant award programs. I have worked closely with small family foundations to help discern priorities across generations.
I have also been teaching grant-writing at the graduate school level for 12+ years, and have reviewed scores of proposals while teaching the core components of high-quality grant writing. I know what is strong, what is not, where to spot promise and problems, and how to partner with nonprofits by giving wise counsel as a grant-maker, whether funding those nonprofits or not. I can help your organization make sound investments and true community impact.
